This exceptional antique Persian Sarouk, measuring 9’3″ x 20’1″, is hand-knotted in wool and distinguished by its unusually grand proportions and remarkably well-preserved pile. The expansive madder-red field is covered with finely articulated floral sprays, palmettes, and scrolling vines in soft rose, camel, olive, powder blue, and deep navy, framed by a richly detailed navy floral border that gives the composition both structure and depth. Its dense weave and saturated, beautifully aged palette are characteristic of fine early 20th-century Sarouk weaving, while the generous length makes it especially suited to a large dining room, gallery, library, or other substantial interior. Despite its age, the rug remains in excellent condition, retaining strong color, a plush surface, and impressive overall clarity.
