Handwoven in Persia circa 1910, this antique Bidjar rug features a dense allover floral design set against a deep indigo field and framed by layered borders in madder red, soft blue, ivory, olive, and gold camel tones. Its tightly packed drawing, substantial construction, and richly aged palette are characteristic of the celebrated Bidjar weaving tradition, while the 4’6″ x 7’0″ size is both unusually useful and difficult to find in rugs of this quality. Beautifully preserved with the softened surface and subtle irregularities of age, it brings exceptional depth, color, and presence to an interior.
