Antique Chuval Turkmen Yomut Bokara Rug

Handwoven in Turkmenistan circa 1880–1900, this antique Yomut chuval features rows of geometric tribal guls in warm madder brown, rust, ivory, deep blue, and muted teal. Originally woven as the face of a storage bag, it retains its distinctive decorated lower panel and shows the beautifully softened color, low pile, and irregularities expected of a textile of this age. At 2’6″ x 3’6″, it works equally well as a small accent rug or a richly textured wall hanging.

At times we may show multiple shade cards so you can get a better sense of color. Finally, when photographing rugs from the same group (shipment, collection, SKU, etc.) we will often use one or two shade card(s) so that you can get a good sense of the coloration.
