Antique Tekke Bokara Fine Handwoven Rug
This antique Tekke Bokara rug from Turkmenistan (5’4″ x 8’0″) is a quintessential example of tribal refinement, featuring a saturated red ground laid out in precise rows of classic Tekke guls, crisply outlined in deep, inky blues and warmed with soft ivory highlights. The side borders are richly packed with repeating octagonal devices and small geometric fillers, while the end finishes incorporate traditional kilim-style bands that add texture and authenticity. Finely handwoven with a velvety wool pile and superb patterning, it’s an elegant, historically resonant statement—perfect for anchoring a study, living room, or bedroom with deep color and unmistakable Central Asian character.
The rug is in very good condition for its age apart from a few stains that are visible in the photos.
PANTONE shades: We do our best to find the closest match to one or multiple colors in the rug. The shade card we choose may not always be the perfect one, but we do our best (it’s a lot of work)! At times we may show multiple shade cards so you can get a better sense of color. Finally, when photographing rugs from the same group (shipment, collection, SKU, etc.) we will often use one or two shade card(s) so that you can get a good sense of the coloration. Hope you enjoy viewing our beautiful rugs!
