Hand-knotted in Nepal circa 1980–1995, this vintage Tibetan rug presents a Khotan-inspired arrangement of pomegranate trees and angular flowering vines across a softly variegated earthen-brown field. Wide borders of alternating rosettes frame the composition, while a closely related palette of cinnamon, rust, apricot, tobacco, and warm taupe gives the intricate pattern a quiet, tonal quality. Woven in wool with a substantial, velvety pile, the rug combines the durability of traditional Tibetan construction with an unusually restrained and versatile coloration.
